HORSE AND HORSEMAN TODAY

Almost all riding horse breeds have been improved within the last years and have therefore also become rangier; a circumstance that has not enhanced the carrying capacity. All riding horse breeds have been selected for more pace; thus, the strain on joints, tendons, and back became more severe. In combination with the increasingly taller and hence heavier riders new challenges showed, especially for the saddle. Additionally, the relationship between horse and horseman is different nowadays. No matter if riding buddy, horse for leisure riding, athlete, or financial investment, a horse today is a highly appreciated individual whose well-being is dear to us.

Aside from the pronounced withers, result of biological predisposition, this horse displays serious muscular problems, especially in the area of the trapezius muscle, and the long back muscles.
